Gift Guide 2021- For Babies, Toddlers and Kids

It’s finally here! The Christmas season is in full swing and we all know what that means. GIFT GUIDES!!! This year I’m going to do a few gift guides, so if this one isn’t for you then make sure to check back here soon and you may find something useful for your gift list of something you can buy for someone else. By clicking the links in these posts it really does help me out, so please feel free to do so.

Tis the damn season (shameless Evermore reference for all my fellow Swifties out there). I LOVE Christmas! It’s that magical time of year in London where all the Christmas decorations and lights have started being put up and coffee shops bring out their deliciously Christmas themed drinks. With all that being said Christmas can bring along stress, with not knowing who to buy for and how much to spend and having to think of all the different ideas for all different ages.

I try to be organised every year and start as early as I can but as the family gets bigger it just gets harder and harder to be organised, hats off to the people out there that have already sorted out their presents – you are my heroes! I always seem to end up buying all my gifts at the last minute. To all of my fellow procrastinators who can never seem to find enough hours in the day – I feel you! This post is for you.

This is my first Christmas buying gifts for my nieces and nephew. Until recently one of my sisters has been living abroad and my other sister had her first baby 6 months ago! So this Christmas is extra special , if not slightly more stressful as I’ve never had to buy childrens Christmas presents before.

If you are in the same boat, or are running out of ideas, have no fear! I have come up with this list to hopefully help save you some time scouring the internet through the masses of stuff out there. Also, If you guys have any good ideas that I haven’t mentioned please let me know in the comments below!

Let’s go in age order and start with babies. As always, a good place to start is to ask mama what she might need. My little niece is going to be around 6 months in January, so my sister is getting ready for the weaning stage. There are TONS of cute weaning sets out there with cups, plates, bowls, cutlery etc. After some research I found this was a favourite for mums in the UK:

https://easytots.com/product/portable-baby-suction-tray/

Its £16.99 at the time of writing. It can be used in the high chair or on the go and has a suction base so the baby can’t easily pick it up so hopefully, less mess!

These stacking cups are only £2.75 at IKEA and at 6 months old the baby isn’t going to know the difference between this and the more expensive sets. This sort of item is a staple in most homes and helps the little one develop their hand-eye coordination.

If you have a bigger budget, then this jumperoo is another favourite for both mums and babies. It will keep the baby safely in their seat whilst mama has a well earned tea break and provide the baby with hours of entertainment at the same time.

Its currently £69.99 with FREE delivery on amazon!

As it gets colder, Christmas is the perfect time to wrap up in warm jumpers and cute hats and scarves and babies are no exception. Clothing is always a good option, My sister is forever buying clothes as the baby grows and the seasons are changing so I’m sure if you help give a jump start on the next stage of clothing it will be much appreciated. I often find that places like Sainsburys and Tesco have really cute baby clothes for quite a reasonable price. I mean, how cute is this snowsuit!!

Personally this is my favourite gift to buy for babies!

Moving on to the toddlers!!

First and foremost…BOOKS! My niece and nephew LOVE books. There are so many options that you can choose from but I will link a couple of the favourites in our family. My niece really enjoys the ‘That’s not my’ series. The good thing about these books is there are a ton of variations. So you should be able to find one that they don’t already have. Just ask mum and dad to make sure!

Now onto my nephew…he is completely obsessed with this book. So much so that we have to buy a new one as the first one is so used.

Both of these books are under £10 each in hardback (which I recommend so you can avoid having to buy another book due to damage).

Still on the theme of books, this colouring book is the gift that just keeps on giving. It’s a magic water colouring book. Just use some water to reveal a lovely colourful picture, wait for it to dry and reuse it as many times as you want. Mess free and really entertaining for the kids. This book can be found on amazon for less than £6.

The next suggestion is 2 gifts in 1. It’s a colour your own t-shirt set! This doubles as a fun activity for the kids as well as a piece of clothing they can wear once it’s done. This website has so many different designs for both genders and a wide range of ages all for less than £10.

A fun option for the real girly girls in the family is some water-based nail polish. It’s non-toxic and peels off really easily – no nail polish remover required. My niece LOVES this stuff and so does my sister because it’s super safe for her to use.

If you are thinking on a bit of a bigger scale. These outdoor play sets are ideal for families that have access to a garden. It will help the little ones burn up a lot of their energy and minimise mess inside of the house. It can also be given as a joint gift for both kids to enjoy together.

Finally, for older children. This is quite a tricky one. At this age, I feel kids start to become interested in very specific things. A few suggestions that I would give would be an Xbox/PlayStation game of their choice. A pyjama or bedspread set with a character that the child will enjoy.

Lastly, a slam dunk for every child – Christmas chocolate and sweets! You can get selection boxes at any supermarket.

I hope this helps with a few ideas this Christmas and reduces some of your stress. Let me know what you have bought and give us some more ideas in the comments.

I love these ideas! Especially because none of them are electric toys. I love it when kids get creative… and these mess free ideas are every parents’ dream. And love love love the “that’s not my…” books (so do my kids)
